We held auditions for The Spider Babies yesterday in OKC. The turnout was pretty good and we saw some really talented and interesting people. The next audition will be in Austin sometime in October. I’ll be posting the date as soon as I have it nailed down. I want to get the cast finalized soon, so we can start on the fun stuff.
We are really gearing up now and will definitely be shooting the movie starting in April 2009. At this point, we have the budget raised to get it in the can, and are working on the budget for post-production and promotion. It’s currently scheduled as a 21-day shoot. April 2009 may sound like a long time from now, but between now and then we have a lot of production design, fight choreography, special effects, music recording and rehearsing to do. Also, we can’t shoot this one during the winter because there are tons of exteriors and it would be pretty miserable.
Between now and then I will be using this blog to keep you up to date on the progress. I kept a pretty comprehensive account of the production of Sex Machine and this one should be even more detailed.
