This isn’t the world’s best kept secret, but we are proud to officially announce that The Spider Babies will feature music by the Austin, TX based band THE HOT AS SHITS. In fact, we just finished recording the music that will be featured in the movie as well as a bunch of other new songs. So if you are a fan of THE HOT AS SHITS, you will have a lot to look forward to in the near future. (I’m already predicting that “Walk-In” will be your favorite song for 2009.)
I want to thank Hilah Johnson, Lisa Wickware and Rosco Paradise for putting in two days of beautiful work in the studio.
This is something that I’ve had in my mind since late last year and it took a lot of time, work and planning to put it all together. It was an incredible feeling to be able to sit in the control room and finally listen to the band play. One of the things that I love about making movies is that it involves bringing together a bunch of creative people who might not normally even meet. This weekend was that kind of situation. It also was the first really concrete sign that this movie is definitely a reality.
