Wow. There have been many, many moments over the past year and a half when I thought this day would never come. But on Wednesday, December 28 we finally showed SEX MACHINE for cast, crew, family and friends. The movie seemed to play really well and I completely loved watching it with a room full of people. Special thanks go to Kenny Phillips for putting together an amazing audio video system. It was crazy seeing the movie so big after watching it on a tiny editing window for so long.
Here’s a few pics courtesy of Melissa Spence. I was way too busy to take pictures, but saw quite a few cameras in action. So if you were there and have any good photos, send them my way. I would love to see them.
Here’s a view from outside mere moments before we screened the movie. Tyler (Hammerhead) Tansel and Joseph (Key Grip) French finishing cigarettes and chatting up a girl who was very disappointed to find that open mic poetry had been cancelled for the night.

Sheridan Marquardt, Erika O’Bar and Roger Dolese at Isis. Sheridan stole the show as Owen, as I knew he would. Every straight-laced monster hero needs a wise-cracking good buddy and Sheridan did an amazing job.
Anyway, that’s it for now. I can’t really even articulate how meaningful this project has been for me and this screening was a great way to bring things to a close.

Public Apology for being COMPLETELY obnoxious throughout the screening.
Let me just say:
ex-husbands (not mine, thank god) + ex-boyfriends + new boyfriends (one on either side of you) + your first meaningful performance in a *subaroshi* film = the necessity for getting wasted.
I am so proud of Chris and Leah and of course all of the actors, and Kenny. It was such a pleasure to be involved in Sex Machine and I can’t wait for the official premiere, when I can redeem myself of hysterical whooping and hollering.
Don’t sweat it! It was fun.
Call me so I can interview you for the doc!
Congrats, man! This film has made huge leaps and bounds it seems. Can’t wait to see it.

after the long wait, we really enjoyed “sex machine”, and espacially to be invited to the opening night! your dad was really proud, and we all thought it was very good . grandma said the music kept waking her up! she doesn”t see too much anymore, but she loves anytime the family gets together. it was really cool trying to identify all the places around ok city. best of everything…it looks like you guys are really being recognized and are on your way. just think…we knew you when! love your website. linda & randy

Yep. And one of my goals is to make movie senior citizens cannot sleep through, so I accomplished my mission.
