SPIDER BABIES casting news

Here we go again. We are beginning the process of casting for the new movie THE SPIDER BABIES (although the working title is DAMNATION ROAD, I am letting you in on the secret here). We will be casting in a few different cities… strange I know.

I’m attaching a press release for the first casting session in OKC. If you, or anybody you know, fits any of these types, have them contact me with head shots, etc. We are casting a wide net for this one.

Rockhouse Pictures is conducting an open casting call that day for a new horror-action motion picture, Damnation Road. The casting call is 12 noon – 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the City Arts Center, 3000 General Pershing Blvd., on the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. This marks the second movie production for the Oklahoma City-based company, which in 2006 released the quirky action-thriller SEX MACHINE.

Open auditions will be held to cast the three female members of a band called The Spider Babies, as well as an array of villains, demons and others. Following the casting call in Oklahoma City, auditions will take place in Austin, Texas.

The Spider Babies are three women in their 20s:

FEMALE LEAD 1, the lead singer, a blonde bombshell who’s not as ditzy as she might seem (partial nudity required)

FEMALE LEAD 2, the drummer, a tattoo-sporting tough chick with a temper as fiery as her red hair

FEMALE LEAD 3, the guitarist, a diminutive collegiate type about to start at Harvard Law School

Other parts to be cast through open auditions include:

MALE LEAD 1, a tall and lean post-punk cowboy in his late 20s

BAD GUY, a bearded, longhaired redneck in his 50s (partial nudity required)

D-BAGS, Three clean-cut, investment banker types

Most of the roles will be physically demanding, requiring running, fighting and the like.
